photo Lenka Zbruz

Lenka enjoys making music more than anything else. Since early childhood she's always been involved in one musical project or another - singing in choirs, playing the piano and the guitar and traveling Europe with her high school's production of the rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar. Lenka discovered the Music Together program when she was a nanny in Hawaii. She became passionate about it and decided to turn her biggest hobby into a career. She was trained in 2007, relocated to Massachusetts and interned in Lexington. For 2 years that followed, she taught Music Together classes with her own son in her lap. Being able to model the class activities with her own child was a great experience. She has found that not only is she able to see the music through the eyes of the children thanks to this, but also can better relate to the grown ups in class who have their hands full. Lenka enjoys being able to teach on her own now that her son goes to preschool, but she still takes a Music Together class with him in her free time. Filip is 4 years old and fluent in three languages - Czech, English and the language of music. He is the living proof of how much a child who has been exposed to a rich musical environment on an ongoing basis will thrive in different areas of development. Lenka finished her Music Together Certification 1 training in August 2010.

photo Carolyn Schneyer

Carolyn began her relationship with Music Together in 2009 when she enrolled with her young daughter in British Columbia. She completed her Music Together teacher training in 2013 and has been teaching ever since, first in Vancouver and now back home in metro Boston. She relishes the opportunities Music Together has provided her, first as a parent and now as a teacher, to connect with her community and join families in fostering a love of singing, dancing, and rampant silliness.

Carolyn has been a singer all her life. Her experience ranges from the tight harmonies of the 6-member Boston a cappella vocal band (and haven for math nerds) Integration by Parts to the huge sound of Vancouver's 90-member powerhouse City Soul Choir, with whom she was a featured soloist. Carolyn also has a wealth of musical theater experience. She spent four summers studying at Stagedoor Manor Performing Arts Training Center in New York and worked as a music and theater instructor for elementary and middle school-aged children at Cranbrook Theater School summer program in her native state, Michigan.

Hi everyone! I am so excited to be teaching Music Together and to be meeting you and your children. Since my early childhood I have loved to sing, along with my very musical family. I have studied at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) in the National School of Music. I came to New England in 2000 and graduated from New England Conservatory with a Masters in Vocal Performance as well as second Master in Vocal Pedagogy with a concentration in Music in Education. I also have Kodaly level II and Music Together training. As a teacher I have experience with large groups of children of different needs; having taught for 10 and half years in the Private and Public Sector. Teaching music to young children is my passion and I love to share my culture through music and song.

A lifelong singer and actor, I graduated from Swarthmore College and the University of Pennsylvania in Psychology and Early Childhood Literacy. At Swarthmore, I also studied vocal performance and sang with the Swarthmore College choir. As a Kindergarten-2nd grade teacher in the public schools, I used music extensively with my students to connect with literacy. I have worked with the Burlington Players and Colonial Chorus Players teaching and co-directing children’s theatrical productions. Four years ago, I found Music Together and launched on a new career path of teaching music to parents and children. This is a perfect fit for me because I truly believe that singing and music is an essential part of our learning process. Seeing the parents and children make music together fills me with joy! I am excited to be teaching Music Together in my new backyard. I have recently moved to Melrose from Andover. I also provide preschool music and theatre games for elementary students in the Melrose Education Stations program.

We use this designation for classes being co-taught (usually in the summer) or if a class does not yet have a specific teacher.
